Why We Love It:
The wine score vs price ratio listed above in today’s subject line would seem to be too good to be true – the kind of over the top hyperbole that makes me suspicious. The good news? It’s totally legit. The last remaining sources of unbelievable wine score math usually resides in places or grapes we haven’t heard of. Or – that at the very least – haven’t yet reached the mainstream. Today we introduce a wine from a winery who has been turning heads with Sommeliers and Wine Buyers around the globe. Adega A Coroa is producing amongst the finest examples of an indigeneous Spanish white grape caled Godello. If I were to try and describe this grape using other more famous benchmarks, Godello probably tastes something a ot like a hypothetical blend of Chardonnay and Albarino. This is a white with the body and shoulders to carry a decent bit of oak aging, while offering up the crisp, fresh acidiity and bouyant fruit (mindful of Albarino). There isnt a lot of this delicious juice available. If youre interested in securing a few bottles, you’d be well advised to act quickly.

Tasting Notes:
“100% Godello. Lovely bright gold colour. Complex nose with ripe yellow apple notes, savoury notes with a salty character. It has a lot of tension on the palate, it is lean and very fresh, mellowed by a lovely texture. The finish is lingering with plenty of zesty fruit and mineral character. Score – 97. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2019)”
