Why We Love It:
Generous, opulent, rich, decadent and just oozing with everything we wish more Bordeaux would be! A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this Bordeaux Superieur does more than “over deliver” – it shatters the value standard for standard Bordeaux, and then some. Prime 35 year old vines are grown on clay/sand soils in Fronsac, the grapes are 100% destemmed on their way into the winery, and one third of the final blend is aged in older barrels – the remainder aged in tank, before bottling. At every step in the production process the emphasis is on preserving the bright natural character of the fruit, and this is achieved with remarkable success. A perfect hypothetical blend of the virtues we love most about both Bordeaux and California reds – all for less than $25 per bottle.
