Rave Review: WineAlign.com on 2004 Bollinger La Grande Annee – 95 Points!

WINERY PROFILE | Champagne Bollinger

“An absolute darling of a bubbly, the 2004 La Grande Année delivers astonishing layering, harmony, and grace. Light straw in colour with the slightest touch of lime, it exhibits fantastic scents of brioche (slightly ‘meaty’), dried green and yellow fruits, gingerroot, heather, powdered sugar, vanilla, and an abundance of citrus characteristics and Asian spices. Very complex, retaining stupendously crisp, stylish fruit, balanced acidity, and a youthful, frothy hint of brioche, lemon citrus, and vanilla on the finish. Classic performance, this will keep for a dozen years or more. 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay (the base wine fermented entirely in barrel). Now-2025++.”
