WINERY PROFILE | Domaine Ernest Burn / Clos St Imer

“Bright yellow-gold. Knockout nose combines pure, delicate, smoky nuances of tropical fruit, glazed pineapple and superripe musk melon. Ripe and suave on the palate, with lovely balancing acidity to the very rich mango, papaya, peach and white chocolate flavors. Finishes pure and impressively long, with hints of crystallized ginger and candied kumquat. Made with grapes from 50-year-old vines in the best parcel Burn owns, located right next to the chapel, on soil rich in calcaire and gravel. The fruit was harvested late in typical Burn fashion (on November 11), but only about 15% was hit by noble rot.
