Rave Review: eRobertParker.com on 2012 Andre Brunel / Les Cailloux CdP “Centenaire” – 94-97 Points!

WINERY PROFILE | Domaine Andre Brunel / Les Cailloux

“Even richer and more decadent, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Centenaire is a field blend of almost all Grenache, from vines planted in 1889, that’s aged in tank (a small portion of barrel-aged Syrah is added to the blend.) Full-bodied, rich and sweetly fruited, with superb mid-palate depth, it displays impressive blackberry, licorice, crushed stone, underbrush and cracked pepper aromas and flavors and certainly doesn’t lack for intensity. Still relatively compact and tight, it should flesh out nicely once in bottle. Drink 2016-2027. A fantastic estate that-s run by the talented and incredibly well spoken Andre Brunel, these character-filled efforts are made from his winery located in the southern part of the appellation. His 2011 base cuvee is one of the best in the vintage, and his 2012s show loads of potential.”
