Rave Review: eRobertParker.com on 2004 Clos Figueras “Font de la Figuera” Red – 91 Points!

WINERY PROFILE | Clos Figueras

“The 2004 Font de Figuera, produced from the vineyard’s young vines, is 60% Grenache, 10% Carignan, and 30% Syrah, Monastrell, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine spent 12 months in demi-muids (about twice the size of a standard barrel) which were a mixture of new and used oak. It gives up an attractive nose of mineral, toast, vanilla, blackberry, and black cherry. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, it has thick, concentrated black fruit flavors, excellent delineation, and a long, pure finish. There is enough ripe tannin to support 4-6 years of further development. It should drink well through 2020.”
