Rave Review: eRobertParker.com on 1992 Clos Mogador – 89 Points!

“This luxury cuvee, made of 20% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Mourvedre, Merlot, and even Pinot Noir from a terraced vineyard yielding a microscopic 5 hectoliters per hectare, is an opaque purple-colored wine with gobs of smoky, toasty vanillin (from new oak barrels) in the bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, rich, youthful and exuberant, with moderate tannin and excellent concentration, it still tastes like a barrel sample. It requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should age well for 15+ years. This is an impressive, internationally-styled Spanish red wine that was aged in small oak casks, a la Bordeaux’s top growths.”
