“Golden yellow. Captivating aromas of honeyed apple, lemon tart and balsamic herbs are complicated by roasted peach and a hint of minerals. Extremely dense and rich, almost oily, but with enticing freshness to the baked caramel apple and pear flavors, thanks to harmonious acidity. This knockout Sylvaner is really a late-harvest wine in everything but name, as it’s characterized by an unbelievably creamy, mouthcoating texture. I find it absolutely amazing what Burn manages to coax out of Sylvaner and this wine is nothing less than exceptional. It’s made from 50-year-old vines situated in the middle of the Goldert grand cru, and from 20-year-old vines planted with a massale selection chosen by Burn from his oldest, best vines. Try this wine with chicken stew and mushrooms, or with pork and pineapple chutney.”
