Mr Riggs

[ McLaren Vale – Australia ]

Reviews & Tasting Notes

[ Story: ]

To understand the Mr Riggs line of wines is to appreciate the journey of Ben Riggs – one of Australia’s most celebrated and accomplished winemakers. Graduating from Roseworthy (referred to by some as “Australia’s Oxford of Wine”) in 1985, Ben has overseen 42 separate vintages, both at home in McLaren Vale and abroad as a sought after “flying winemaker” – including stops in France, Napa, Greece & Italy. This breadth of experience has shaped the wines that Ben introduced under his self-branded moniker in 2001. Ben’s first love is Shiraz – a wine he describes as “complicated and needy yet incredibly alluring”. Today producing terroir driven wines from vineyards McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Coonawarra you will discover the passion and inspiration of one man’s lifelong love affair with wine in each bottle of Mr Riggs.
